A curated platform for unique accommodation experiences. Unlike generic booking sites, Hella Stay focuses on high-fidelity visual storytelling and authentic guest reviews to elevate the travel planning phase.

A performance-focused frontend that implements an adaptive media loading strategy. It detects the user's connection speed to serve optimized assets—a lightweight WebP for mobile users on 4G, or a high-resolution video for desktop users on WiFi.

The Challenge

The challenge was translating the visual allure of unique properties, often showcased with 4K video and high-resolution imagery, into a fast, seamless web experience. Heavy media assets are essential for marketing but are detrimental to performance if not handled correctly, especially for travelers on mobile data.

The Solution

An adaptive media loading strategy was implemented. The platform detects the user's connection speed and device capabilities to serve the most appropriate media asset. A desktop user on fast WiFi might see a looped HD video background, while a mobile user on a 4G connection would be served a highly compressed, next-gen WebP image to ensure a fast load time.
