My Story
Born in Greece, based in Spain. My path into technology started through banking operations — years working on KYC, AML, and fraud prevention across Greek financial institutions. I saw firsthand how compliance, data quality, and operational decisions shape financial products, and I wanted to build those systems rather than just work within them. That realisation led me to pursue dual Master's degrees in MBA and FinTech & Blockchain, and to pivot into full-stack engineering.
What I Do
I design and build full-stack web applications with a specialisation in FinTech and compliance-adjacent products. My work spans everything from React/Next.js frontends and Firebase backends to system design conversations about financial data models, audit trails, and role-based access control. I also build AI-powered tools — most recently ForensiqAI, a fraud forensic assistant that analyses suspicious links, messages, and transactions.
FinTech & Compliance Background
Eight-plus years in banking operations gave me a depth of understanding in KYC onboarding, AML transaction monitoring, and fraud detection workflows. I do not just know the regulations — I know what breaks at scale, what creates audit risk, and what takes weeks of analyst time to reconcile. I bring that operational context directly into technical design decisions: data models that support audit trails, rule engines that reflect real AML logic, and interfaces built for analyst workflows.
Tech Stack
Next.js 16 (App Router) and Firebase are my primary tools: Firestore for real-time data, Firebase Auth for identity, Firebase Storage for media, and Firebase App Hosting for zero-config CI/CD. I write TypeScript throughout, build UIs with Tailwind CSS and shadcn/ui, and integrate AI capabilities where they genuinely add value. I use AI-assisted development workflows (AI Agent) to ship faster without sacrificing quality.
How I Work
Security is never an afterthought — every project starts with the data model, access rules, and edge cases before a single component is written. I prefer simple, maintainable solutions over clever ones. I work closely with clients through architecture discussions before writing code, deliver iteratively, and communicate clearly throughout. I believe the best software does exactly what is needed — nothing more, nothing less.
