1. Who We Are

This website is operated by Gerasimos Makris, an individual web developer and FinTech consultant based in Spain. References to "I", "me", or "my" in this policy refer to Gerasimos Makris personally.

2. What Data I Collect

a. Analytics Data

I use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors interact with this website. Google Analytics may collect your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, time spent on pages, and referrer URL. This data is aggregated and anonymised. Analytics cookies are only set if you accept Statistics cookies in the cookie consent banner.

b. Contact Form

If you use the contact form (powered by Notion), I collect your name, email address, and the content of your message to respond to your enquiry. This data is processed securely via Notion.

c. Preference Data

If you accept Preferences cookies, your theme (dark/light mode) and accessibility settings are stored in your browser so they persist across visits. This data never leaves your device.

d. Necessary Data

A cookie recording your cookie consent choice is always stored. This is strictly necessary for the site to function and cannot be disabled.

3. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

As I am based in Spain (EU), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies. My legal bases for processing are:

• Consent — analytics and preference cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time via the cookie settings in the footer.
• Legitimate interest — understanding site traffic at an aggregated, anonymised level.
• Contract / pre-contractual steps — responding to enquiries about freelance or consulting services.

4. Data Retention

Analytics data is retained for up to 14 months per Google's default retention settings. Contact enquiry data is retained only as long as reasonably necessary to resolve the conversation. Consent cookies expire after 12 months.

5. Your Rights

Under GDPR you have the right to: access, rectify, or erase your personal data; restrict or object to processing; data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, contact me via the Contact page. I will respond within 30 days.
